Top 5 Best COVID-19 Vaccine Resources for Migrants and Immigrants

The summer is in full swing and vaccination campaigns are struggling. The initial rush has slowed, and many communities find themselves with more vaccines than people who want them. Yet, simultaneously, many migrant and immigrant communities are reporting that people who want to get a COVID-19 vaccine still can’t get one. Why not? Some are fearful about the possibility of exposing their immigration status; others are concerned that it may cost money. Others struggle to make an appointment with poor internet access and low English-language literacy levels.  Still others are hesitant because of misinformation they have heard. Many of these issues can begin to be addressed with clear, low-literacy, culturally relevant materials. Here are Migrant Clinicians Network’s top five COVID-19 vaccine resources to support migrant and immigrant communities in their vaccination efforts this summer.

Yo me la puse poster examples
1) #YoMeLaPuse

#YoMeLaPuse: These posters in Spanish encourage the community to get vaccinated by featuring images of people showing off their vaccine band-aid. Best of all, you can customize your poster by pasting in a photo of your own community’s movers and shakers, encouraging the community to get vaccinated as well.
