Ana Marizza Patiño was born in Ciudad Acuña, a border town by the Rio Bravo/Rio Grande in the Mexican state of Coahuila. In 2008, she moved to Acuña’s sister town, Del Rio, Texas, with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Management. For several years, Patiño worked in the commerce and education fields. Three years ago, she had the opportunity to pursue a career in the health field for the Texas Department of State Health Services, where she became a community health worker and grew passionate over her new role helping others in the community. Patiño is the mother of two sons and one daughter, and is grandmother of three. She likes gardening and long-distance walking.
